In late 2024, the newly-constructed Rubin Observatory on Cerro Pach\u00f3n in Chile will begin the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST). The LSST is an optical and near-infrared time-domain survey covering the entire southern sky once every few nights. It will capture moving, variable, and transient objects while building deep multi-band images to reveal faint and distant static sky objects. The data will be processed on prompt (60-second) and annual timescales, and made available as calibrated images and catalogs. This talk will provide an introduction to the science drivers, survey strategy, and data products of the LSST, a timeline for the expected data releases over the next few years, a demonstration of Rubin Observatory’s data access and analysis resources, and examples of how the science community is preparing for the LSST. We will cover current opportunities for getting involved and developing familiarity with the data and tools.
